I finally got a decent panorama of the Gold Coast at night.

I can only do one thing better now...Take off the F'n Polarizer...

And Q1 is the name of the Building I took the pics from if you're wondering.

1. Set your camera to full manual. Not all cameras can do this. If you can't put it onto full manual, just set it as manual as you can.

2. Check the exposure by taking a photo. Mess around with the settings until you get something good. Now is a good time to remember to take off the polarizer (Doh!).

3. For day shots, just take a series of photos, so that you have about 30-40% overlap between shots. For night panoramas, set up the camera on a tripod, find a way of removing any unwanted things like reflections, and say a prayer...Then start shooting the photos, same as daytime, except using a remote trigger and/or a time delay of about 5 seconds to stop any camera movement.

4. Check all you photos for blurriness, or any other unwanted things. Reshoot if you have to.

5. Go home and get all the pics off your camera.

6. Boot up photoshop, or better still Stitcher Express [link] See if you can get a demo or something.

7. In Photoshop, do a photomerge. In stitcher...just figure it out. It's not too hard.

8. Celebrate if it works, cry if it doesn't.

;)
